Freshly Postpartum

You Are Not Alone in Postpartum

Baby Juniper is fast asleep—just over three months old. Her soft breaths and tiny baby noises are inches away from my hands as I type this.

If you clicked on this article looking for a solution or a quick fix to postpartum, I want to gently prepare you: This may not be that kind of message.

I am currently 14 weeks postpartum, and according to my most recent health visit, my hormones “should” be regulated by now. But if postpartum has taught me anything, it’s this: no two stories look the same

I am not here to tell you where you should be.
I am not here to measure milestones. Yours or your baby’s.
I am simply here, with a vulnerable heart, to remind you of one thing:

You are not alone.

One Thing We All Have in Common

No two mothers experience postpartum the same way.
No two babies walk the same path in their first few months of life.

Yet, you and I share something deeply important.

Whether this is your first baby or your sixth, you will never be the same person you were before pregnancy.

At first, I grieved that truth.

I grieved the version of Amanda I used to be — not because of Juniper, but because of what I thought I was losing in myself. I missed the woman who had endless work ethic. The one who could juggle responsibilities, steward friendships well, and move through life with energy and momentum.

When I looked in the mirror, I barely recognized the girl staring back. She struggled to brush her hair. She moved slowly. She felt unfamiliar. I feared she was gone forever.

But in the mess, something beautiful emerged.

Instead of losing myself, I was being remade.

A new version of me was forming, one that was always there but I had not met her before. This beautiful baby didn’t erase who I was… she brought something truer to life.

And that is what you and I have in common.

You are becoming the mother you were called to be for your child.
No one else can raise your baby the way you can.
No one else carries your instincts, your love, your voice, your presence.

This season may feel unfamiliar, but God hasn’t stepped away from it. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). If you feel tender, tired, or undone, He is nearer than you think—shaping something holy in the quiet. Please hear my heart in this: this is just a season, and God will use it to glorify His Kingdom.
